FAQs

What is InsideOut?
InsideOut is our Sunday evening environment where high school students (9th-12th grade) gather to explore their relationship with Christ and others. Our goal is to create an environment where students prioritize their relationship with Christ, influence their friends, and experience personal ministry.

What is Large Group?
InsideOut impacts students through two environments every Sunday. Large Group kicks the night off with a game, live worship music, and a talk from one of our speakers. The goal of Large Group is to set up fun and meaningful discussions during Small Group time.

What is a Small Group?
Small groups provide the fuel that drives students to make good choices during each week. Ideally each group is led by the same two adult leaders the students had for Transit. Each small group includes students from the same grade and gender. Although many of the Small Groups meet immediately after large group, there are groups that meet during the week. We allow this flexibility as we want our high school students to feel they have time for their school work, extra curricular activities, and InsideOut. We also have seen a deeper connection when meeting outside of the Sunday morning experience.

When and where does InsideOut meet?
InsideOut meets each Sunday afternoon from 4:00pm – 6:00pm at the Journey Campus (3700 Price Club Blvd Midlothian, Va 23112)

How can I serve in InsideOut?
When you look at the beaming faces in InsideOut, you see far more than high schoolers. You also see dozens of energetic adults who were once in your shoes—wanting to jump in, yet wondering whether they had time or energy to commit to mentoring. They discovered what you will soon recognize: our volunteers aren’t merely here to help. The relationships they form become their ministry and a treasured priority. In fact, small group leaders engage with the same students for the entire four-year duration of high school—laughing, listening and leading. We’re delighted you want to become part of the reason that high schoolers love InsideOut! For more information, click here to start the conversation of getting involved in InsideOut.

Can I bring a friend to InsideOut?
Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it. InsideOut is designed to be fun and inspirational for every high school student. We’re thrilled when you are excited to share what you’re experiencing at church!

How is a Small Group Leader chosen?
Small group leaders volunteer to participate and then go through an interview/approval process before being selected to lead students.

How are groups formed?
We create groups based on gender and grade. Our desire is that students make friends in their small groups which will help with the level of accountability and the depth of relationships. Each group is formed differently, and we will work with you to create the best experience possible.
