New Series – Deal With It

Well, we did it. We have successfully transitioned into Journey’s new campus, and I am so grateful for your partnership and support each step of the way!

Since our Grand Opening, we have seen an average of 12 first time students PER WEEK! That’s incredible! These first time students (and whoever invited them) have the opportunity to go to our new environment that we’ve called “LAUNCH.” LAUNCH is in place to ensure that every first time student (and in some cases, their parent) have the opportunity to answer any question that they may have. In LAUNCH, students also get to participate in a VIP-style/first timer only experience. These experiences vary from week to week but include: waterslides, mechanical bulls, jousting, hot chocolate bar, movie tickets, taco bar, and the list goes on.. So, make sure your student doesn’t miss out, and encourage them to invite their friends!

This week in InsideOut, we will begin a NEW SERIES that we are calling, “Deal With It”. Here’s a glimpse into what we will be learning in Large Group and Small Group:

So what’s trending on Netflix this week? Maybe TV isn’t your thing, but I’ll bet you’ve got a time vortex. Maybe yours is a gaming system. You log on for just a few minutes and then, somehow it’s midnight. Maybe you throw on headphones and just space out listening to Spotify, or maybe you stare at your phone and scroll without even really looking at what people post. We all have a favorite distraction—something we get lost in. And while there’s nothing wrong with taking a break, you’ve probably also discovered that it’s more tempting to reach for something fun when you’re facing something that isn’t. We all have a tendency to avoid something difficult by doing something easy. Or we escape something painful by running toward something that feels good. Or we hide something that hurts by pretending it isn’t there. But maybe you’ve also noticed that none of these strategies really work. In fact, sometimes our favorite escapes can leave us feeling more stuck than before. In this series we’ll look at three ways we’re all tempted to skip out on the real life that God has for us. As we do, you may just find that God’s inviting you to stop avoiding it, escaping it, or hiding from it and.. deal with it.

We, the Student Ministry team, are SO EXCITED to begin this new series, and are believing for it to help shape the way that our students handle stressful/difficult situations in their lives. Another thing that we are excited about is our two upcoming camps, one in town and one out of town. Please follow these links to register your student today!
